Come Alive预览
COME TOGETHER
The Lord commands Ezekiel to prophesy to the bones, and as he speaks, as he obeys, a sound is heard. It’s the sound of bones rattling, creaking, and joints reforming and coming together.
All of the parts of each body are reformed to their original state. Joint on joint, bone on bone; but there was no life in them.
Before life comes and before breath enters, the body has to come together. What has been separated, disconnected and alone has to be reconnected to the body to form a whole. We will look at this further in the week but notice that it says in verse 10 - “There stood before me an exceedingly great army.”
It wasn’t an army with limbs or fingers missing, hobbling on one leg, with an ear gone or eyes not in their socket - all of the parts had joined together. Nothing was incomplete.
I believe as a church we are meant to gather together and to be unified in heart and purpose. Before new life enters to revive and restore the church to be the glorious bride that Christ will return for, we must first be gathered, reconnected, rejoined and unified.
Paul speaks in the book of 1 Corinthians about the body and how we are all separate parts but each have a part to play in the church. One part with one ability is not more important than another part. It’s time for us all to realize our place in the body and to play the part that we have been graced with.
Further than this, I believe that the coming together of bones speaks prophetically into the return to a relationship with God with those who have turned away. Will you believe with me that this year, we will see a return and a revival of people to God?
CHALLENGE
What part do you currently play in your local church?
Is God calling you to serve Him by serving the local church?
How can you work towards unifying the body of Christ in the context of your church?
ACTION
Who do you know that used to come to your church but left for whatever reason? Contact them this week with an invitation to come with you to church.
PRAYER
Lord, give me an understanding of what it means to be unified in the body of Christ. I pray you will help me find the best way I can to contribute to my local church so it advances the Gospel. Please show me this week someone I know that I need to invite to Your house and that we will see an influx of souls into Your kingdom.
