Advent: The Hope of Christmas预览
The Christmas Wreath
As soon as the first of November hits, people immediately start putting up Christmas decorations. But why?
When Christmas comes to mind, it immediately changes our mood and lifts our spirits. Families feel Christmas joy when they pull out the Christmas lights and decorations. Christmas really starts to come alive when towns display twinkle lights and seasonal displays. One of the most popular and cherished things people do is add a Christmas wreath.
The Christmas wreath is on doors, over fireplaces, and displayed in windows. This is a symbol that many recognize to mean Christmas is here!
But, did you know that the Christmas wreath is more than just sticks and holly intertwined into a circle? The Christmas wreath holds a deep meaning that started long ago...
You see, the circular shape represents eternity. It has no beginning nor end. Just like the love of Jesus has for you and me. Wow.
When you take a walk or drive home and see a Christmas wreath, I hope you’ll be reminded of the love that Jesus has for you.
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
The love that Christ has for you and me has no end. He died so that we can have life eternal.
Application: Here’s a challenge. Buy or make your own Christmas wreath this season, and be reminded daily of the love of Christ. Go the extra mile, make or buy one for a friend and send them a note saying the love of Christ is just like a wreath that has no beginning and no end! It is a symbol of love and eternity for all humankind!
