 Lesson #3: Thorns Teach Us To Trust Christ More.

 Thorns highlight the weakness in our life. Thorns reveal how desperately we need the strength of the Lord. Thorns teach us how to rely on Christ to get us through and carry us on. Because the thorn is too much for me to handle, I learn that I must trust Him to handle it. The great news is Jesus promises that His “grace is sufficient.” The grace of God in our lives will be more than enough to live with the thorn. Thorns give God’s grace the opportunity to pour into our lives.
 

Because of the blessings that thorns bring into our lives, we can actually thank God for the thorns. Without the thorns, we would miss out on the blooms of life. And God promises to provide everything we need to handle the thorn. Learn to trust the end result of the bouquet in the vase and let God handle the thorns in your life along the way. Ultimately, thorns are a reminder of God’s grace in your life as you blossom in Him. 

Prayer:

Lord, it’s easy to glorify and thank you for our blessings (roses) , but today, we thank you for our thorns. Help us to never forget that even on our bad days, we are blessed. Help us to walk in humility and to look to You for the strength to pick up and bear our cross daily.
