Then Sings My Soul - Cries Of The Heart From The Psalms预览
Psalm 62:11
Once God has spoken; twice I have heard this: that strength belongs to God.
My sights are set on You alone, Oh God! I know that You’re the only One who can save. My soul waits quietly, certain that You will come to my rescue. From our relationship alone, am I able to find a security that anchors me. There are people out there that can’t wait to see my downfall. They’re watching and are eager to see me overcome. They may talk like they are for me though I know the truth of their inward motivation. But I know who You are God, and how You’ve always been. I’m counting on Your reputation, so I’m confident that I’ll get through this. I don’t expect to find my strength from mere humans. And I know everything is being weighed on Your scale of justice. You won’t miss anything, so I leave it to You. I trust You.
Application: How are you encouraging your God-strength?
Have you ever wished God would just zap you into arriving at whatever place He is choosing to slow-grow you? Cooperating with the Holy Spirit’s work in us involves thoughtful intention and commitment to action. It also means noticing where He might be drawing you in a different direction than your usual “routine.” What might God be inviting you to add into your daily/weekly rhythm to strengthen your dependence on Him in this season? What might He be asking you to let go of?
Kids tip: Have your kids do as many pushups as they can. Ask them what it might take for them to be able to do more. Ask them what might encourage people to grow stronger in knowing Jesus. Share with them some of the ways you’re growth has been encouraged.
