Be prepared to innovate.

Old methods may not be relevant in a new context. What worked in the past may not work in the present. We notice this in action in the story of David and Goliath. Saul put on his armor for David because it made logical sense to do that. That’s what you normally wear when going to war.

However, David understood the context and realized that he needed a method that would be relevant for the current context. So, he abandoned the armor, the sword and the helmet because he could not walk in it (which implies he could not make progress). He took five smooth stones and his sling to take down his enemy. We know how the rest of the story went - he was victorious in battle and killed Goliath.

The implication of this is for us to be flexible, innovative and creative. We need to understand what works in the new normal and adapt to it.
