Our Help Comes From the Lord

From June to October is typhoon season in Taiwan. More than five typhoons occur every year, some very strong and threatening. So how does the small island of Taiwan survive in the midst of strong wind and rain? 

It survives because of the Central Mountain Range, which runs from the north of the island to the south and separates the east and west of Taiwan. When a typhoon lands on the east coast and continues toward the west, it will be weakened or destroyed by the Central Mountain Range. Thus, the densely populated west coast areas are kept safe.

Psalm 121:1-3 says:

“I look up to the mountains—

does my help come from there?

My help comes from the Lord,

who made heaven and earth!

He will not let you stumble;

the one who watches over you will not slumber.

Sometimes storms come into our lives. When they do, we all desire to have a stronghold or refuge to keep us safe. God promises in His Word that when we lift our eyes to Him, He will give us hope and keep us from evil. He is our help and the keeper of our lives.
