A GOD OF VISION

Since the creation of the world, God has given vision to mankind. In Genesis 3, when Adam and Eve disobeyed, immediately after their mistake, God brought a vision of salvation for mankind. He begins to speak to the serpent and to declare the vision that Jesus would come to make amends for the error, the sin they had just committed.

This continues throughout the Old Testament in which God, full of grace, does not tire of bringing a fresh vision to the people of Israel, despite their disobedience. God's plan was to be fulfilled in spite of their mistakes. Jesus would come.

Our God is a God of vision. We see it again and again, and generation after generation. The Bible itself is full of vision and promises.

In Habakkuk's passage, when Israel was about to go into exile in Babylon, about to begin a period of oppression and limitation, Habakkuk begins to complain: Why God? How can this happen to us? When is the situation going to change? To which God responds with three indications:

1. Write down the vision

God did not say He was going to free them from exile. He said that He still had a vision for His people. Perhaps, if I had been in Habakkuk's place, I would have preferred to complain instead of writing the vision!

2. March towards its fulfillment

No matter what situation we are in, we cannot stagnate or turn back, but, as God's children, we must always move toward what God is showing us.

Could it be that the level of fulfillment of the vision is determined by the degree of faith with which we march?

3. Wait for it, for it will surely come

The answer will always come even if it seems to take time, because God is an inexhaustible source of vision and always has more for His children, for our lives.

So, if you are in your "Babylon" today, I encourage you to write down the vision that God is showing you. March toward it and wait for it, because it will be fulfilled.
