God’s Got This! – 5 Lessons from Exodus 14:12-14预览
Day 4. Be strong.
Moses didn’t add “be strong” to the list, yet it is certainly implied! We see this reflected in the words Moses spoke next: “and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again” (Exodus 14:13c).
That certainly is encouragement for us in the midst of whatever we’re facing! God is saying to us, “Be strong and watch your Strong God in action!”
Think of the many times throughout Scripture when God worked mightily! Read the first two chapters of Genesis with fresh eyes: God is the creator of the entire universe! Notice the parallels between Day 1 and Day 4, Day 2 and Day 5, Day 3 and Day 6 of creation! See how God prepared a place for His beloved creation mankind before He created the first man and the first woman!
Think of the many times in your own life where God has worked mightily! Think of what life was like before you met Jesus. Weren’t you like the blind man in John 9:25, who said, “One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see”? Except for you it was different; you once were far from God, spiritually blind, and then you met Jesus—and everything changed!
Let’s remember where God found us, and how He has been working mightily in our lives—and the lives of people around us—to enable us to stand strong in the midst of whatever challenges we face today! It’s like the apostle Paul said to the believers in Colossae: “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong” (1 Corinthians 16:13).
When your back is up against a wall, the fourth step of faith in affirming that “God’s got this!” is to "be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might" (Ephesians 6:10)!
