Love God Greatly - Galatians预览

Paul shares with the Galatians that liberty in Christ comes with responsibility. Our liberty and freedom in Christ should be used as an opportunity to serve others through love, not simply to satisfy our own desires or return to our former sin. When believers don’t love and serve each other, we risk consuming and destroying each other.
What is it in your life that distracts your heart, your mind, your soul and hinders you from loving your neighbor as yourself? In what areas must you guard against independence, rebelliousness, or selfishness which would keep you from loving others? Are you walking worthy of the Lord or are you exploiting the Lord’s grace and mercy to justify doing things or acting in ways that are displeasing to Him?
Father God, You set me free from the slavery of sin when I surrendered my life to your Son, Jesus Christ. Prevent me, Lord, from distorting Your grace and taking advantage of the freedom that You have granted. Remind me of the responsibility and privilege that I have as Your daughter. Help me, Lord, to reflect You honorably. Convict me and correct me quickly when my behavior may cause someone else to stumble. Thank You for the freedom and rest that comes with following You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

We are going to experience Paul’s exhortation to the young Christians in Galatia (also meant for us) telling them that all that is necessary – all they need – is the gospel… the good news. Tim Keller says, “The gospel – the message that we are more wicked than we ever dared believe, but more loved and accepted in Christ than we ever dared hope – creates a radical new dynamic for personal growth, for obedience, for love.” And that makes our hearts sing! Galatians summarizes the gospel and what it means to our hearts. This, friends, is life changing.
