Springforth: A New Thing Devotional预览
Choose Today
Let’s take a trip back to the Garden of Eden. Remember how Eve, who was created to complete Adam, chose to heed to the voice of Satan? She made a choice to eat from the forbidden fruit.
God loves us so much that He gave us the opportunity to choose because He doesn’t want forced love; He wants genuine love. He was relentless in His love for us, and that love should be enough for us to choose Him every single time.
Choosing God is your way of telling Him, Father, I am Yours, always and forever. Rain or shine, sleet or snow, come what may, I choose You.
This should be our constant declaration. You may be asking yourself why is it necessary to continuously speak these words; the answer is simple. As we transit through life, our thoughts, actions, character, cultures, and environments cause us to fall short of His glory; because of this, we must die to our flesh daily and remind ourselves who we are in Christ. We must also remind Satan that we are children of God. Satan will always try to discredit us after God has validated us, so we must stand firm in our decisions to choose Him again and again and again. Most importantly, we must declare and demonstrate that we are still a part of His tribe, army, and a bonafide citizen of His kingdom.
Joshua made this decision when he said “But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” - Joshua 24:15.
Who do you choose? Make your decision today!
Let Us Pray:
Dear Lord, I know I have gone astray several times, but today, I repent and stand on top of the highest mountain to declare that I am Yours. Omnipotent, it is so comforting in Your arms; I want to stay in this place forever. Being in Your secret place and under Your shadow is my insurance. Therefore, I declare that as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Amen.
