Experiencing Nearness To God 预览
Experiencing the presence of God can often sounds like such an elusive — vague concept. It sounds like this extraordinary but evasive thing that only “holy people” can obtain, but His presence doesn’t tend to be seen as something certain enough to expect or place your hope in — every single day. I’m guilty of listening to worship bands like United Pursuit, Bethel, and The Upper Room and undoubtedly I’d experience mushy, gushy emotional chills. Unfortunately, I’d have those same feelings walking into my Grandmas kitchen on a Sunday afternoon. Have you felt that excitement before? If we aren’t careful we can associate God’s presence with emotions and songs as if they are always the gate to God’s presence.
But in reality God’s presence is as simple as being in the presence of a husband, wife, or your little cousin. For those who seek His presence — It’s as simple and sure as being around a person except this one truth: God never leaves.
Can you say, “Amen” to that? It’s true.
And just as you can be in the same room as a friend and not be fully aware of them, you can walk through your life apart from experiencing God’s nearness — what a sad, frustrating way to live. When you’re sitting across from a friend at Starbucks you can become so consumed with social media or your own hurtful thoughts that you’d essentially forget they are there with you.
My friend, don’t go through life being so focused on the your to-do list that you fail to be sensitive to God’s presence. He waiting patiently for you today.
We don’t find hope in earthly security but it’s found in encountering the presence of God in Psalm 27:4. Scripture says, “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.” This pursuit, this action of seeking the living God, never comes back void or unfruitful. To seek God is to deeply encounter God. Feelings aside, Faith on a rise....confusion cast away—God is already with you and for you. He is already closer than the air you breath. He has unending blessings and joy for you today as you draw near to Him.

God longs that we would know the basics of quality time alone with Him, we’re going to take 3 days leaning into the presence of God. As crazy as it may sound, God’s presence is meant to be a continual dwelling place of all our lives. I'm excited to see how he fills our lives as we set aside time for Him through this devotional.
