Killing It: A Study Of 1 Corinthians预览
God wants us to flourish. He wants us to live a full life. He wants us to "kill it." Killing it, in God's Kingdom, looks vastly different than killing it in our culture today.
As we begin Paul's first letter to the Corinthians, we need to know that Paul was a tent-maker. God uses regular, everyday people to reach others. Instead of seeking to pursue and elevate his own status, he consistently sought to give of his own energies and time and gifts for the benefit of others.
The pathway to human flourishing is not through accumulation and status and self-exaltation and self-sufficiency but through generosity and humility and lowliness; with carpenters and tent-makers and slaves and this new community of strange status inconsistency.
Paul is convinced that Jesus is not only the revelation of who God is, but also the expression of what truly flourishing human life looks like.
