Our Good God

In these two verses, two principles are at work: the law of sowing and reaping, and how God interacts with the prayers of His children. Behind both of these activities stands a good, good God. All that He does is good, and His provisions to you are designed to help you find a good life in this world and, of course, in the one to come.

It is God who causes you to reap bountifully from the work of your hands, and it is God who answers you in the time of your greatest need. He does not answer your cries to Him with evil but with loving-kindness. Every good gift comes from a good God. Your career is a gift from Him, and it allows Him to bless your worktime as you freely give it back to Him in gratitude. Likewise, your prayers are heard by God and answered by Him in His love for you, His child.

Why do men automatically blame God whenever something bad occurs? He is not the author of poverty, sickness, accidents, or broken relationships. Keep crying out to Him and trust Him to bless you in all things because He is truly good.

Holy Father, I trust you to meet me with goodness and kindness at every point of my life. You are good, and I rely on Your loving-kindness. Amen.
