THREE GIFTS TO ENJOY WHILE YOU CHANGE THE WORLD
Before You Continue - What Is Grace?:
When we place our faith in Jesus, we receive both mercy and grace. Mercy can be defined as not receiving what we do deserve (eternal separation from God), but grace is receiving what we do not deserve. At its core, the grace we receive can be summed up into life and hope.
Gift #1: The People With You
One of the ways we can experience life and hope is through healthy relationships, and this is on clear display in the early church’s commitment to “fellowship” and “breaking bread” together (Acts 2:42)!
Gift #2: The Provision In Front Of You
As the early followers of Jesus grew together, God continued to provide for every need they had. One of the things that separates the church of Jesus Christ from the rest of the world is gratitude. Rather than always striving and straining for more, we can be thankful for what we have today and trust that He will continue to meet every need tomorrow.
Gift #3: The Progress Around You
Despite the opposition they faced, God continued to build this movement of Christians. Not only were they becoming stronger as individuals, but more and more people were making the decision to follow Jesus. Take note of the great things God is doing both in you and around you as you surrender to Him!
Big Idea
Enjoying life can be an act of worship to God. As we walk in His grace, it’s important to express gratitude for the people we love, the provision we receive, and the progress that takes place!
LET'S THINK ABOUT THIS
Question #1: What is one thing that “jumped out” to you while reading Acts 2:42-43?
Question #2: Which of the three gifts (the people with you, the provision in front of you, and the progress around you) resonated the most with you?
Question #3: What is a gift from God in your life that you’re thankful for? What are some practical things we can do to grow in gratitude?
