Faith Over Fear of the Futureنمونہ
In a World of Disasters, BE CONFIDENT
What do we do when everything seems to be going from bad to worse?
Global conflict, food shortages, rising prices, a worldwide pandemic, and natural disasters increasing in frequency and severity. Every time we turn on the news, we are reminded that our world is broken and that it seems to be getting worse rather than better. As Christians, this should not surprise us. Jesus told us that this very pattern would occur as we approach the end. And yet it can be hard to face each day with confidence when the very earth beneath our feet is shifting.
If we’re not careful, all this will make us shake as well. But be encouraged by Acts 2:25: “I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.”
The way to combat the fear of natural disasters is by supernatural discipleship, which allows the Holy Spirit to flood our lives with encouragement, conviction, and hope. Hebrews 6:19 says, “This hope we have as an anchor for the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil.”
There is evidence that our food, our health, and our homes are experiencing greater uncertainty and pressure than ever before. But, we can trust God to take care of us and work out His plan through us as we use tragic circumstances as an opportunity to serve others and as a springboard to share the gospel with a world in desperate need of it.
Great revival can follow great hardship, provided we don’t waste the opportunities God places before us. If you want to exchange your anxiety about the state of the world for something positive and productive for the kingdom, God’s Word will inspire you to do just that.
As children of God, we have an opportunity to navigate the twists and turns of life with confidence, even in the midst of disasters. Why? Because that confidence is based not in our abilities but in the nature and character of our heavenly Father. Not only does He see what’s coming in our world, but He has told us in advance how everything will end. You and I can navigate this world of disaster and still be confident!
