Finding Hope in Jobنمونہ
Why God?
Job didn’t struggle with the pain of his suffering as much as with the question – Why? Sixteen times Job asked, ‘Why am I suffering?’ ‘Why is God allowing this to happen to me?’
The past two years our world has been struck with a global pandemic. And just like Job there are many people looking for answers. Human beings often want easy answers to hard questions. But these answers may be more about making us feel better, than actually helping us understand the world in which we live.
Job may not have understood what was happening to him and the why behind it, but he knew that God is always good, always loving and always trustworthy. God does tell us He will ‘work all things out for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose’ (Romans 8:28).
Even if we can’t discover the reason for our suffering on this side of eternity, we can trust in God (1 Corinthians 10:13). God is in control, even when we can’t sense it. One thing we can be sure of is that God’s heart is especially tender towards our sufferings. He knows every tear we shed. He feels our intense pain and suffers along with us.
Trust in God’s perfect love for you. Our Lord still bears the scars of the crucifixion, and stands with arms open wide to comfort you with His loving presence.
