A Perfect Way
It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect.
The Lord gave me this Scripture right before I had major surgery a few years ago. I was confident that the Lord said go ahead with the surgery, but still, being under general anesthesia for so long wasn’t something anyone would look forward to experiencing. Then again, being a mother of five children, I also wasn’t looking forward to the long recovery time. Nevertheless, the Lord showed me this Scripture, and I knew He would see me through.
The day after Mother’s Day I went into the hospital with a few tears and went through with the surgery. Like always, our faithful God showed up and armed me with strength and made my way perfect. I was the first woman in Tulsa who was given a new pain treatment after surgery, and it helped me recover without so much pain. Even the doctors were amazed. I knew it was God. If you trust Him, He will work out things perfectly for you.
A few years later, Caroline needed eye surgery, and I really struggled with fear. To be honest, I was tortured with fear day and night so I decided to fast a day before her surgery. Then God reminded me of this Scripture once again, and as I began speaking if over the situation, fear took flight. All through her surgery I sat in the waiting room with perfect peace. That in itself was a miracle because the week before I had cried myself to sleep every night. But when Dr Ben (as Caroline calls him) came through the surgery door into the waiting room, He kept saying, “It all went perfect!”
I’m so thankful that the Word of God does not return void. You see, removing cataracts from a child’s eyes is much more difficult than removing them from an adult’s eyes. But with God, all things are possible! Stand on a specific Scripture and do not waver, and watch God remove every obstacle.
