Advent: The Hope of Christmasنمونہ
A Season of Waiting
Waiting can be hard. It looks different for everyone. Waiting for some can be for 1-2 years and for others it can be over 10 years of waiting. In Psalm 40, that is what we learn about David. He waited on the Lord. In this specific time, he didn’t try to go ahead of God and make it happen. Instead, he waited patiently.
At the right time, God turned everything around. We live in a busy world. We want everything at the press of a button. It is either our time or the highway.
During this Christmas time, I hope you’ll take a break from the busyness and wait upon the Lord. Whether you’re experienced a difficult year, grief, anxiety or have had a great year. I hope you’ll just take a break and take some time to spend with the Lord.
Psalm 40:2-3 says, “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.”
When at that time he does pull out. When we finally see the light, may we give praises to Him. May we worship Him with all our heart and might. Here’s the truth that we must accept: no president, congress or government office can save us or pull us out of our wait. Only He can, When we accept that, peace enters like a floodgate.
