Finding Jesus In Technologyنمونہ
Jesus is our autocorrect
It took me an incredibly long time to be comfortable with texting. After using a normal-sized keyboard for 30 years, I wasn’t comfortable with the tiny keyboard on my smartphone. I hunted and pecked with my index finger—and my kiddos laughed because it took me forever to send a single text message. Eventually, I learned how to use both thumbs, but I was constantly hitting the wrong buttons. This was humbling for someone with a reputation for being a stickler for spelling, punctuation, and capitalization in communication. Then technology gave us autocorrect to save me from all my spelling mistakes.
Because I’m full of brokenness from birth, there’s no way I can ever get things right. All my own attempts at holiness would be fumbled and misguided. Then God gave us Jesus. He “made [Jesus] who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Now every wrongdoing we commit, whether intentional or not, is autocorrected by Jesus—replaced with His perfection. Our feeble efforts are glorious because Jesus gives us credit for our efforts. God takes our destination for Hell and replaces it with eternal life in Heaven.
One last thought, sometimes autocorrect gets a bad reputation because it guesses wrong (there’s even a website about that). That’s not how it works with Jesus. He gets it right every single time.
