In the parable of the sower, "Good ground" is the only ground that is healthy enough to produce fruit.  Good ground is the only ground that makes good on the sower's investment. The consistent state of your heart will create the consistent state of your life. Because of this, it's important to pay close attention to what your heart is taking in and producing on a regular basis.  

When your heart takes in healthy life, which comes from God's Word and God's presence, your heart will produce healthy life. When your heart takes in fear, worry, doubt and other things that contend for the Word's place, you won't be pleased with the outcome.
