Love God Greatly - Psalm 119نمونہ

Our Lord desires our all…our whole heart, our whole mind, our whole soul. When believers consider what love God has gifted us through His Son, Jesus, love should compel us to surrender all that we have to Him. Love should compel us to respond to His great love with swift and total obedience. Love should compel us to devote our time and energy to knowing Him more. The Lord knows that we are incapable of perfectly keeping each and every one of His commandments, but our love for Him should motivate us to strive daily to deny ourselves and follow Him. Every person must make a decision whether to live her life according to personal preference or according to the unchanging Word of God.

What compels and motivates you to follow the Lord’s commandments? Is it your great love for Him, your great fear of Him, your obligation to Him, your religious traditions, or something else?

Father God, I thank You for being everything I need. Oftentimes I forget that You don’t need my obedience, but that You desire it. Help me to remember that because of Your great love for me, You have made the ultimate sacrifice. Therefore, I can trust You with my everything. When I struggle with total obedience or compromise with lukewarm devotion, remind me that You withhold no good thing from me. Only You can see through eternity, only You know my end from the beginning, and only You are absolutely perfectly trustworthy. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
