Reflection and Direction

Congratulations! Now, you have officially created a new routine of time in the Word. My hope is that you now feel refreshed and renewed in your natural body and in your spirit. But, like every beauty routine, spiritual growth is a continual process. If you neglect your skin, hair, or face, it becomes apparent to those around you. Studying the Bible is no different. Neglecting your time with the Lord will eventually become obvious to all who see you. You will have to apply the Word of God to every need and in every situation that should arise. The best way to do that is by having the Word hidden in your heart instead of scrambling at the last minute to search for a verse that ministers to your need. Renewing your mind again and again by the washing of the water of the Word will not only benefit you but also your family, friends, church, and the world around you.

BEAUTY INSIDER TIP: Look in the mirror.

The book of Esther is about a young girl who underwent lavish beauty treatments in hopes of becoming the next queen. She found favor with the king above all the other women and became his bride. One of my favorite things about this shining star is that all her pampering and beautifying did not go to waste. Esther could have chosen to live a pampered life in the lap of luxury, but instead she used her royal position to influence the king. Because of her selflessness, she saved the entire race of her people. We are all in the same position as Esther. Each one of us has undergone this time of preparation, and it’s not without purpose. Do you know anyone who goes through such extreme measures to make herself beautiful just to sit at home?

There are people out there who need us. They need to feel the presence of God that we carry, and they need to experience his love just as we have. Chances are you look in the mirror before going out the door, and I encourage you to look in the mirror of the Word before facing the world. Reflect upon what it says and make certain it’s being applied properly. Then go out the door and be a witness. You may be the only Bible someone will ever read (2 Corinthians 3:2). If you have never considered yourself an Esther, think again. We were all born “for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14 NKJV). We are fortunate enough to have an even greater blessing than she did. She went to the king without knowing the outcome, but we can go to the King of kings and his enduring Word!
