The Untamable Grace of God

“For by grace you are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is gift of God.” - Ephesians 2:8

A constant recurrence of the term grace is mentioned throughout the Bible. It is abstract and yet essential to our Christian faith.

Grace in the spiritual sense means an undeserved favor, especially of God; the unmerited assistance given to humans for their regeneration or sanctification.

However, as far as it is divine, it cannot be easily described. The grace of God is His willingness to rescue mankind regardless of his moral or social status. In Act 20:24, the message of Jesus is referred to the Gospel of God's grace, resonating God's deep affection and the benevolence of His nature.

For example, we are saved by grace (Eph. 2:8), exact dominion over the incredible power of sin by grace (Romans 6:14) and are preserved in the will of the Father by grace (Titus 2:11-12).

We cannot work to earn or preserve the grace of God. It is the gift beyond all our luxuries, an undeserved honor of God on frail and fallible creatures like us.

Food for Thought:

Grace is a gift from God that saves us from the eternal consequences of our inadequacies and keeps us in His will. The only right attitude toward grace is gratitude.

Action Point:

Today, thank God for the unmerited grace of salvation and ask Him to help you not to despise it through your actions and intentions.

Prayer Point:

Dear Lord, thank You for Your grace. Forgive me if I have taken Your grace for granted and make my life an absolute testimony of Your Grace.
