Prayer # 2: Patient Participant
Patience is a virtue this Momma has never seemed to knock out of the park. In fact, most days, I’m not even close to camping near the park of patience. Raising children requires a level of fortitude that is not innate, or at the very least, not easily exemplified. When I lose my cool, or in the moments just before I lose my cool, I hope I run to Christ before I let my tongue run wild with impatience. Join me in prayer, will you?
Jesus. Take. The. Wheel.
Yes, Lord. That’s how I’m addressing you today. Spaghetti noodles are stuck to my back, the bathtub just overflowed, and my youngest has her head stuck between the spindles on the stairs. Can you seriously come and take this wheel right now?
I need you, Lord. I always need you. When you see me start to unravel at an alarming speed, please show up in the way that only you can. Reach out and rescue me from drowning in another episode of Mommy mania.
Please give me patience on a daily basis. Give me the courage to suppress outbursts and instead respond with love. Give me the ability to “walk the walks” of understanding and kindness and model that kind of behavior in front of my kids. I understand the “monkey see, monkey do” game more than ever. Give me the strength to set the best example I can for my children to follow. Help me lean into the hope found in the truth that every day will not be great, but there will be something great in every day.
Grant me the power to rise above the noise and embrace the silent goodness found in you.
All my love,
Frazzled and Frantic

As moms, we drive ourselves crazy striving for perfection. We try to prepare the healthiest meals, install the safest car seats, plan the best birthdays, yet we lie awake at night wondering if we’re doing enough. The pressures are overwhelming. God selected you to parent your child. You can survive the diaper years because you are more than enough in Christ. Cheers to the grace and goodness found in him!
