Abiding in Christ - A Mother in God’s Word
Read: John 15:1-17, Psalm 119:105
SOAP: John 15:4-5
"Remain in me, and I will remain in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me- and I in him-bears much fruit because apart from me you can accomplish nothing."
Into the Text
Sweet sister,
You are not called to do this parenting gig alone. It may be your first rodeo, but it isn’t God’s. Navigating motherhood is a journey filled with joy, challenges, and endless love. In the midst of busy days and sleepless nights, God whispers gently to our hearts, reminding us that we are not alone in this sacred calling.
We can’t forget that as branches connected to the Vine, our strength and wisdom flow directly from Jesus. His Word is our lifeline, providing guidance, comfort, and the grace we need to nurture the precious souls entrusted to our care. When the weight of responsibility feels heavy and doubts creep in, remember that our ability to bear fruit comes not from our own efforts but from remaining connected to Christ. Apart from Him, we can do nothing.
God knows each of our children, their unique personalities and specific needs. He has equipped us with His love and wisdom. As we abide in Him daily, we learn to trust His leading in our parenting journey. Together with Jesus, we can grow more into His image while also modeling what a Christ-follower looks like to our children. This, then, allows us to cultivate a home where our children can flourish and grow in their love for the Lord.
So, sweet sister, let’s commit to immersing ourselves in God’s Word, allowing His truth to shape our hearts and minds, and guide our actions. For it is where life is truly found.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, help me to choose to daily abide in You. Help me to remain in You, drawing my strength and wisdom from You as I navigate this journey of motherhood.
