Miracle in the Making: 5 Devotions for Expectant MomsÖrnek
Decisions, decisions, decisions. From the moment a woman stares at that "positive" sign on a pregnancy test to the moment she finally gets to hold her baby in her arms, she’s presented with a plethora of choices and decisions to make. Some are relatively small choices, like what brand of prenatal vitamin she wants. But others are significant. What hospital will she choose? Does she want a home birth or a hospital delivery? Epidural or natural? And of course, what will the baby’s name be? Does she want to know the gender ahead of time? Where will the baby go to day care? The list can grow in length as the pregnancy progresses and she gets closer and closer to her due date. The significance of each choice can feel heavy and the decisions hard to make. What should she do?
Thankfully, we have a God who promises to give wisdom to those who seek it out. God will give wisdom generously without making you feel ashamed for asking. He never wants you to hold back from asking Him for help for any decision, big or small. He’s right there, ready and waiting to help you, if only you would ask.
When the next big choice comes during your pregnancy, take a pause and go to the Lord to ask for wisdom about what you should do. There may be people who can give you counsel, but ultimately, you can make your own decisions with the wisdom that God is so generously willing to provide His children. You can do this. One step at a time.
Lord God, thank You for promising to give wisdom generously when I ask. I do need wisdom. I can't make these big decisions on my own. Please show me the direction and the path You want me to take during my pregnancy. Amen.
