25 Songs of Christmas a Musical Celebration of the SeasonÖrnek
Day 25 — Silent Night
Like most famous Christmas carols, the song “Silent Night” was first written as a poem. Written in 1816 by Father Mohr, a priest in a small Alpine town in Austria, it became the much-beloved song it is today when he asked Franz Guber, an organist, to set it to music. Now one of the most recognizable Christmas hymns, “Silent Night” has never lost its ability to stop time momentarily in our minds, still the stirrings of world events, and remind us of the world-altering, life-changing events on one quiet night.
Silent night, Holy night,
All is calm, all is bright,
’Round yon Virgin Mother and Child,
Holy Infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
The lyrics “all is calm, all is bright” remind us of what life is to be like with Jesus. When we’re truly leaning on Him and making Him the focus and center of it all, we will feel calm, and all will seem bright. Even in the midst of trials and challenges, we can have the calm and brightness of His love and power overtake us, and keep us from fear or worry.
In the midst of whatever you are facing today, you can have peace. Close your eyes and sing “Silent Night.” Let the calm and brightness of that night permeate your heart and the places that need Him the most. Make a decision to allow all that He is to penetrate every part of your life. Turn everything over to Him. In no time, you will you begin to feel the calm and see the brightness break through any darkness!
All of us here at Kenneth Copeland Ministries wish you a blessed and Merry Christmas with expectations for a victorious and prosperous new year in 2022!
