Reason to Achieve

Purpose and passion go hand in hand; where there is no purpose, passion is misdirected and where there is no passion, purpose dies a natural death. Injecting a sense of overall purpose to life ensures you have a reason to wake up every morning, a direction to pursue, and cadence to live a meaningful life. Organizations that have crystallized their purpose, socialized it in their context, and galvanized critical mass to align with them, are cutting edge in their spaces.

While facilitating a leadership discovery session for a senior leadership team, I held huddles to examine the purpose of their existence. They crystallized their purpose − ’to make the lives of our customers simple’. That purpose drove the entire team to set those BHAGs (Big Hairy Audacious Goals), clock in 18-hour days, persevere relentlessly, and achieve what was considered to be insane results. Detractors ramped up, dissensions rose, denouncers ravaged but the sense of purpose was so strong that they weathered through them all to achieve those lofty goals.

Power of conviction propels you to dream the implausible, desire the improbable and design the impeccable. Strengthen your conviction of purpose and pathways will emerge to achieve the impossible (Ex 5, 6). As you take definite steps towards your life purpose, you are likely to experience significant pushbacks from diverse quarters − fear not, fluster not, flounder not but foray, forge, flourish, for the dissenting forces will be decimated and the victory will be yours! (Ex 14)

The conniving of your adversaries shall lead to the cementing of His purposes, so don’t be anxious (Gen 45). As Christian professionals, the objective is to bring glory to God, as the Bible says in I Cor 10:31.

You were crafted with significant forethought, shaped with considerable care, and designed for a specific purpose by the Master Architect; don’t settle for anything less. As you allow His vision to become your passion and His plans to become your purpose, His desires to become your priority, your life will turn from a caterpillar into a butterfly and make you soar high like an eagle. Let your God-ordained purpose propel you; with Him, you shall go beyond the impossible and make it possible.

Lord, let me find Your purpose, and may Your purpose drive me. Amen
