Revelation: The Unveiling Of Jesus ChristHalimbawa
Demonstrations of Christ's love
Now to the one who constantly loves us and has loosed us from our sins by his own blood, and to the one who has made us to rule as a kingly priesthood to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and dominion throughout the eternity of eternities! Amen! – Revelation 1:5–6 The Passion Translation
He constantly loves us! The love of Jesus is unending and can never be diminished or diluted. He showed us this great love by giving His blood to loose us from our sins. He constantly loves us!
I find it interesting that at the very beginning of the book Jesus wants to focus our hearts on His love. It is not simply judgments that are coming, but demonstrations of His love. He will continually loose us from every sin, every bondage, and every fear. He washes them away in the fountain of Lamb’s blood. He gave His own blood for you and me!
And he has made us to rule with him as a priestly order of kings, or a royal order of priests. Kings and priests—that’s who He has made us to be. Our new life imparts the kingly and priestly anointing. A kingly priesthood, made us to rule! Notice, it’s all past tense. We are kings and priests already! We have the nature of both a king and a priest embedded within us in Christ. Christ is the one who “made us” into this holy order and union. It is already done. See also Rev. 5:10. This is a king-priest ministry after the order of Melchizedek.
Kings have power and authority, priests reconcile in mercy and love. We are not only believers who have been given great power and authority, but we’ve also been given great love to show to fallen men and women. Our rulership subdues men to God, bringing creation out of chaos into loving submission to our King, Jesus. It is the overflow of His kingly and priestly anointing in us that brings blessing to the earth. To the measure we reflect Him we are kings and priests.
Such great favor has come to us from the one who continually loves us. As you read the book of Revelation, remember that it comes from a Lover, One who desires to show you more of His love. Yes, He is the Judge, but He is first the God who SO loved the world that He gave us Jesus to loose us from our sins.
Expect to discover more of His love today!
