He Still Waits for Us
I don't know how far you have traveled away from God throughout your life. It could be that you were far away and now you are close again. Just as it could be that you walked away and still haven't have the courage to come back and it continues away. But I want to tell you: whether we are near or far away, God still awaits us. He remains in the same place he always was, with the love he has always had. He continues with the same look of love, with his hands pierced by nails reaching out to us as if he is saying "I suffered this you! Do you really think I don't love you?" He is a God of mercy, but He is also a just God and the day of justice is coming.
I read a sentence this week that said, "Jesus said He would return when the world least expected it and there has never been a generation as distracted as ours". Don't be distracted by the landscapes you encounter while walking the paths of the world. Don't get distracted by everything that tries to take your attention away from what really matters! Just DON'T BE DISTRACTED! He misses us. He doesn't get frustrated, because that's a consequence of putting expectations on someone, and He doesn't put expectations on us because He already knows what's going to happen. So, my brother and my sister, stop being distracted and run into His arms that are still outstretched! Before it's too late! It's time! In fact, IT IS ALWAYS TIME! This parable of the Prodigal Son teaches us that, no matter how far away you went because of sin, or how long you've been wandering around, He waits with outstretched arms longing for you to return. Just come home!
