Collecting ConfidenceHalimbawa
When was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone? When was the last time you felt a call in your spirit, and you dismissed it, denied it, or ran from it? When was the last time you took a risk on you?
It’s time for you to step out in faith. Do the thing. What are you waiting for? Are you waiting for the perfect circumstances? Are you waiting for everything to fall into place? Are you waiting to get younger? To get thinner? Or probably more to the point, do you think you’ve made too many mistakes to even try? “If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done” (Ecclesiastes 11:4 tlb).
After my divorce, I was ashamed. No more. I now know my mistakes are a part of my story, and they make up the flavor of who I am.
This is true for you, too. Don’t despise any part of yourself. There’s a message in your mess. Embrace your mistakes. Reframe your “big mistake” as just a stepping stone. You’re not too far gone. Embrace all of you. I mean all. Not just the fun, Instagrammable parts of you. Every bit of what you’ve done is part of who you are, and who you’re called to be.
I’m still on an upward trajectory, but I still do dumb stuff. It’s not like you decide to live a life of faith and suddenly you no longer make mistakes. . . .
Your life is spiraling upward too. Your mistakes are not dragging you down they are giving you more juicy material for your story. That’s the good stuff.
Prayer
Father, please forgive me for despising parts of myself and for putting off the steps I know You want me to take. Thank You for promising to be with me as I step forward in confidence. Amen.
