I’m Not The Boss

Key Thought

Ever since the fall of mankind, we have had a warped mentality of dominion. God told us to spread out across the world and rule the earth, but not to rule each other. We have changed and got this wrong. To rule and reign earth is not to rule and reign over each other.

Whenever a human tries to rule another human, we are positioning ourselves over that human. The only way to claim that position is to sack God from His position over people.

One of the main reasons God should maintain the position of ruler over all creation is because there is no other being as benevolent as Him. God is slow to become angry. He is patient with us. God wants all of us to be saved.

There is no way I would be as caring toward you as God is toward you. I don't know enough about your situation. I don't have a wide enough perspective. I can't see every side of the story from different angles at the same time. You would be seriously disadvantaged if I was ruler of mankind.

It's good for me to remember that I'm not the boss, I shouldn't be the boss, and I really should have no desire to boss people around.

Time To Think

Do people have freedom to be themselves under me? Do I let people change or make them change?

Prayer

Father, thank you for being the greatest of all gods. There is nobody like You, our great God! You are always ready to listen to us. Your rules and Your ways are good and fair. Thank you for protecting me by Your word. Amen.
