Look to Jesus

Look at Jesus. He suffered. He didn’t retaliate. He didn’t react with hatred, rejection, inferiority, or bitterness. He kept loving, doing good, forgiving, and extending grace and mercy. Let us follow His example. It will always set us free. People who went before us also suffered. Freedom from pain always comes in the same way: understanding the character of the Father, total forgiveness, and following Jesus as our example.

Obedience: Study the following passage carefully: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). What is God saying to you in this passage? Does this align with how you “feel” about God and what he thinks? Are you willing to exchange what you think with what the Word says God thinks about you? Take time to do it.

A word about middle children: Middle children (for instance, the second sibling of three) must watch themselves carefully. They often suffer emotions of neglect, rejection, and inferiority and will repeatedly need some help to work through these emotions. When one child receives preferential treatment in a family, it usually leads to jealousy in the other siblings' lives, but often also hatred, rejection, inferiority, and timidness. This is typical behaviour that one finds with “middle children.”
