Loving the Other: Jesus Revolutionตัวอย่าง
You Can Only Walk Through Doors That Are Open
Collecting photos and images of doors can be fun. They come in all shapes and sizes, but what is the purpose of a door? They can be ornamental or decorative. They can also provide protection and prevention. When the door is open for us to enter, it is inviting! But the door that remains closed causes us to go elsewhere. Chuck Smith had to address the question about what type of door was at the entry to his church.
A popular Bible verse talks about doors. Jesus says, “I stand at the door and knock..." The context of this verse is Jesus inviting us into an eternal relationship with him. But as the movie illustrates, there are spiritual doors in our journey. Pastor Smith wrestled with this concerning his church. Was it going to be a door that was open and welcoming to those who may have been different? Would he welcome and embrace the other? We must ask ourselves the same question. Is my life one that is inviting people toward a positive faith walk with Jesus? Or do I keep my faith so tight that people are not drawn to learning more about Jesus?
Application Questions:
- How would people describe your "spiritual door?" Is it opening and inviting?
- Who can you pray will take a step of faith and answer the door where Jesus is knocking?
