Plan Two: The Fear of the Lord Is…ตัวอย่าง
THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS GOD’S GIFT, PART TWO
Today, we continue to see that the fear of the Lord is the most precious gift from our loving Father. As King David prayed, “Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.” He asked to be taught and willingly became a student.
It was then that he began acknowledging that the ways of the Lord, God’s truth, an undivided heart, and the fear of the Lord are all wondrous gifts sent from God. King David knew that the natural inclination of our sinful hearts is to run and hide from God, just as Adam and Eve did after their initial sin, and that only the kindness of God draws us to Him. The magnetic strength of the Holy Spirit enraptures us and gently nudges us to follow the paths of God while still giving us the free will to choose His way and His truth.
I encourage you to immerse yourself in the Scriptures that will reveal God’s gifts resulting from our fear of the Lord and dwell on these promises…
- The fear of the Lord is one thing that Jesus greatly delighted in.
- The fear of the Lord gives us contentment and rest.
- The fear of the Lord gives us protection and security.
- The fear of the Lord grants us God’s provision.
- The fear of the Lord bestows God’s favor and blessing on all.
- The fear of the Lord engenders God’s tender compassion.
- The fear of the Lord extends God’s kindness and mercy to us and generations yet to come.
- The fear of the Lord reveals God’s unlimited love.
- The fear of the Lord is life-giving and keeps us safe from satan’s snares.
- The fear of the Lord is a prerequisite to wisdom.
