The Author of Peace

There are times when we experience chaos and confusion in life. Many times we find that when we are trying to do something that God would have us to do it gets pretty confusing. Questions like; “Am I hearing from God?” “How are we going to make it?” and “What if I fail?” come to our minds. It is in these times that we must stop and remind ourselves that God is not the one causing the chaos because He is not the author of confusion. He is the author of peace! When we pray and invite God into our situation the confusion seems to lift like a fog that gives way to the mid-day sun. Clarity and peace come in and we are able to accomplish what we were doing for God. Any time you realize that you are in the midst of chaos and confusion remember that God is the Author of peace. That means that He is writing a story that includes your peace. He is not writing in lack, chaos, confusion, and disorder. He is making sure that you have nothing missing, nothing broken, an abundant supply, and everything you need is available. What a story that will be! When you find yourself in situations that are confusing and chaotic then realize there is another author at work. Sometimes it is the evil forces of the enemy that war against us. Other times it is sinful flesh, whether someone else’s or our own. In those moments take time to pray and invite God into the situation. He will rewrite the story of what you are experiencing. God has the final say! You have probably identified some areas of your own life that are confusing and chaotic while reading today’s devotional. Take some time to pray over each one and invite God to rewrite the story. As you do, listen for His voice. If you get clarity in an area you may want to write down what you hear God saying to you. Be sure to add any action steps and things you need to do to help the situation.
