OPEN THE DOOR OF HELP
Bear one another burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2)
The Edomites did not care about the Israelites at all, even though they were still related by blood. This happened when the Israelites came out of Egypt and were about to enter the Promised Land (Canaan). The Israelites asked permission to pass through Edom's territory, but the Edomites refused their request. They did not have the understanding, nor compassion towards the women and children in the large group. They shut themselves off and did not care about God's people.
God once promised Abraham that whoever blessed Abraham and His descendants would also be blessed. That promise applied to Isaac and Jacob, too. However, Edom refused God's blessing and closed the opportunity to be blessed by the Lord.
Brothers and sisters, sometimes we close ourselves or close the door of our hearts to help others. God is allowing us to be blessed by helping others first. God is never in debt. We do not know when, how much, and where, but God will bless us for everything we sow for the good of our fellow humans.
We are most blessed when we are a blessing.
