Prayer Changes Things:

Praying over the things that are causing your anxiety helps you to not carry the burden alone. God tells us in His word to put our anxiety on Him, all of it, because He cares for us. In Philippians 4, He gives us a prayer formula by coming with an attitude of thanksgiving. 

When you focus on what you are thankful for, it gives you a different outlook. When we are thankful, He brings the peace that passes understanding - we do not know why we feel peace, but we do. David Chadwick says in Moving Beyond Anxiety, “Worry cannot share space in your mind when gratitude is present.”
