Becoming a Battle Ready FatherНамуна
Fatherhood Under Attack
Do we need one more statistic to demonstrate the pain that disengaged Fathers are inflicting on society? It is well documented: Fatherless homes are far more likely to produce young men and women who underperform academically, abandon their faith, become addicted to drugs or alcohol, and engage in violent crime.
Fathers, the enemy has his sights set on us. He wants us to fail. There is much at stake and we fathers require spiritual depth and courage to retake the ground we have ceded. The good news - our God is the perfect Father and He will teach and empower us to succeed. He provides us with guidance, encouragement and instruction in His Word on how to model His attributes and properly rear our young men and women. All hope is not lost.
But, we must understand Satan’s methods if we are to be victorious. Consider a loose analogy: Satan's lies are like hot sauce. Some are flaming hot ("You deserve a better family" or "God doesn't care about you") and some are milder ("You got this" or "It’s OK to be a workaholic so your family can have the 'good life'"). His goal is to get us to consume any flavor of deceit, be it radical or tame.
If he cannot get us to physically leave our families or completely abandon our role as the spiritual leader, he will at least try to convince us that we must do it under our own power. One thing he knows - when we operate as a lone wolf, we are easier to pick off.
Today, don't be tricked into swallowing any of his lies. Commit to being the spiritual leader of your home - and, importantly - do this by relying on God's power not your own. The Lord wants you to succeed, for your sake, and for the sake of your children.
About this Plan
Fatherhood is under attack like never before. Statistics bear this out. One of the best ways for Satan to win this war is to convince men that we are not engaged in battle. This devotional helps fathers and men pick up their weapons and gird themselves for the spiritual battle. A lot is at stake - not only our own personal integrity, but the lives of those we love.
