Courageous Humility Pt. 1Намуна
First, let’s be clear, God is speaking to us on matters of the heart and not pointing a finger at folks who are physically overweight. Researching the word “fat” in the Strong’s concordance describes a metaphorical definition as: to cover over the heart as it were with fat, to render it callous. What might be creating this fat covering over our heart? Excessive consumption of all the world has to offer.
Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. We live in a society where consumption is the norm. Consuming words, images, sounds – downloading snack after snack in the palm of our hands, impacting the condition of our hearts with every byte we consume. We have to ask, is our consumption causing us to grow in knowledge and truth? Or is it perhaps stunting our growth and causing us to “pack on the pounds” – gagging our sensitivity to God’s Spirit in our lives? Perhaps the Lord needs us to commit to abstaining from excessive consumption of information the world would have us feast on. And for a season feast only on what HE has for us allowing us to lean down and grow from the Bread of Life He offers.
Prayer: Lord, help us to lean down, de-bloat, and remove any covering of “fat” from our hearts! I pray we have the courage to refrain, for a season, from the menu of options the world continues to present to us. Information. Images. Messages. Mind altering verbiage to shape and manipulate culture. Lord, help us to courageously come to You and feast on Your Word, in those moments we would like to consume more. Holy Spirit, help us turn to You for comfort, rather than bytes devoid of nutrition. Thank You Jesus, for providing the conviction and revealing to us our consumption patterns may need to change, in order for Your Bride to be radiant and glowing, prepared and ready for Your return and day of judgment. In Jesus Christ’s Name we pray, amen.
About this Plan
Be strong. Be Alert. Be Courageous. These words are the premise of this 30 day study where you will uncover God's desire for you to call out to Him and trust He will hear. Not only hear, but set you on sure footing, a path He sets before you, for your sake and the sake of those around you. From there you will dig into Scripture around what it means to courageously step into God's presence, how to do so, and what you can expect as a result of going into His presence. Finally, you will be encouraged to step towards the healing Christ offers, both individually, and as the collective Bride of Christ. Each day you will be encouraged to ask questions, seek answers in God and His Word, and identify the step YOU sense the Holy Spirit compelling you to take. Courage accompanies ACTION, and Christ reveals to us where to move next, while the Holy Spirit empowers us to do so!
