Think about a massive stadium packed with fans. But instead of cheering for a sports team, they’re cheering for you! That’s kind of the picture this verse paints. It reminds us that we’re not alone in our struggles—there have been tons of people throughout history who have followed Jesus through really tough times. Some lived in big cities, some on farms. Some faced huge natural disasters, wars, conflicts, and heartbreaking situations. And yet, they kept going.
The writer of Hebrews says they’re not just people from the past—they’re like a crowd cheering us on as we face our challenges. They made it through, and they’re rooting for you to keep going, too.
Next time you face a tough moment in life, imagine that stadium full of people who have walked this road before you. Take a deep breath and ask God to help you keep running your race, one step at a time.
