Walk With Jesus: 21 Days Through MatthewНамуна
Once Jesus was in Jerusalem, the Pharisees and the Sadducees spent a lot of time questioning Him. They were trying to trick Him! Claiming that you were God was a crime called blasphemy, and you could die for it. Even though Jesus really was God, He knew that the Pharisees wouldnÍt believe Him and would get Him into big trouble. One of the questions the Pharisees asked Jesus was "what is the greatest commandment?" Jesus answered them - "You should love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind, and the second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself." He told them that all of the other commandments depended on these two! Jesus was saying that we should love God with everything we have - our whole bodies, our hearts and souls and minds. Then Jesus said we should love our neighbors as if they were us! What do you think it means to love our neighbors that way? We should want the very best things for them. Let's pray asking God to help us remember these important 2 commandments, and to help us follow them every day.
