The Comeback Part 2Намуна

Meeting The Real Jesus
Do you think you know God? Saul sure thought he did. We all often think we do, when sometimes we don’t.
It’s easy to think that because of how we grew up, the stories we’ve heard from our parents, or the things we see on Tik Tok, we know all about who God is, what he’s like, and what Christianity is all about. But do we?
In this story, we meet Saul. He was a Pharisee, a Jewish man who had studied and memorized the entire Old Testament and was very serious about obeying every one of God’s laws. In fact, he considered himself to be one of the best Pharisees. He was so confident that he knew God that he started arresting and killing Christians because he believed they were spreading lies about God. But one day, he met the real Jesus and realized that he not only didn’t know who God really was, but was actively working against God. Similarly, the things we think we “know” about God may be far from the truth, and that can be dangerous. But after Saul met Jesus, he went from Saul the executioner-Pharisee, to Paul the evangelist-apostle. That’s a serious comeback story, and here’s the lesson: to really know God, we have to spend real time with the real Jesus ourselves.
So how can we meet the real Jesus? John 1:14 says “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory…” talking about Jesus. So when we read the Bible, we’re actually seeing Jesus. God reveals who He really is through His Word. So here are three things that we can do:
1) study and memorize the Bible,
2) talk about the Bible,
3) talk to God in prayer.
The more we do these things, the more we’ll know God, and the more He will transform us from a Saul to a Paul.
How well do you think you know God? Is there room to learn more about Him?
What specific actions can you take to get to know the real Jesus better?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to see you for who you truly are, and give me a deeper understanding of you.
