Lent: The Journey of Letting GoНамуна

Week 5: Death and Grief
Theme: Dying to Self for New Life – Embrace the spiritual reality of letting go of the old to make room for resurrection and renewal.
Focus Scripture: John 12:24 – “Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”
Connect: Tough situations can feel all-consuming, making it hard to see anything beyond the pain or frustration. When challenges arise, what does it take to shift your focus from the problem to finding a way forward?
Engage: In Numbers 21, the Israelites were frustrated and overwhelmed. They complained about God and Moses, and their choices led to difficult consequences. But when they cried out for help, God responded with an unexpected solution: He told Moses to make a bronze snake and lift it on a pole. Anyone who looked at it in faith would be healed.
This moment required the Israelites to let go of their own ideas and trust in God’s unusual way of providing for them. It’s a powerful reminder that healing and renewal come when we release control and turn to God, trusting Him even when we don’t fully understand His plan.
Apply: What challenge or struggle are you facing today? Reflect on where you might be relying on your own strength to get through it. Take a moment to pray, asking God to help you trust His way and look to Him for healing and guidance

About this Plan

Lent begins with a call to release control and embrace surrender. By letting go of the burdens we carry, we create space for God’s grace to bring renewal and transformation. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
