Become Like a Sheep

"So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."

As the Good Shepherd, Jesus knows us intimately and desires to guide us on the path He has set for our lives. However, life's distractions and our own plans can often drown out His guidance.

To truly understand our purpose, we need to be attentive to how God speaks—through His Word, through prayer, and through the Holy Spirit's promptings. Scripture also encourages us to ask God for wisdom whenever we need it. James 1:5 assures us, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

Listening to God involves more than waiting passively for His voice; it requires actively seeking His direction and wisdom. This might mean setting aside time to pray, read Scripture, and reflect on His guidance. God promises that if we ask, it will be given to us; if we seek, we shall find; and if we knock, the door will be opened to us (Luke 11:9-10).

Whether you're uncertain about your next move or feel completely lost, turn to your Shepherd and ask Him to show you the right path. He will reveal your purpose and provide the clarity and courage needed to pursue it.

Prayer:

Lord, help me hear Your voice clearly and discern Your plans for my life. Remove distractions and grant me the wisdom I need to understand and follow Your guidance. Lead me step by step on the path You have prepared for me. Amen.
