God Is Remaking You

Throughout my life, I have repeatedly had to come to this reality: God is making a man. As difficult as some situations and circumstances are that may alter my entire life and trajectory, I still must come to the biblical reality that my life and future are in God’s hands. Therefore, the only way to go forward purposefully is to know God is still making a man, and I am this man.

In Jeremiah 18:1–6, we learn how the potter takes the spoiled clay and remakes it into another vessel. He does this in a way that pleases him. The application of this story is powerful. God is the Potter. We are like the clay in his hand. He takes us as we are, broken, sinful, and spoiled. Then, he remakes us into another vessel. By God’s grace and for his glory, God fashions us and forms us into something different and new, always doing with us whatever he deems is best.

Even as I share this with you, I am overcome with God’s personal involvement in our lives. When walking through personal problems and difficult circumstances that may be entirely out of our control, we may question where God is and what God is up to in our lives. However, we must do all we can to see things from God’s perspective. He is our Potter. We are like the spoiled clay in his hand. Our Sovereign Father takes each of us in his hands and remakes us into another vessel. We become newly-created vessels God has prepared for his purpose in these times. As David declared in today’s Psalm reading, so we must join him in declaring with confidence and faith that our times are in God’s hands.

When you pray and fast, truths like this will become ever more prevalent in your life and future. Through this journey that you are on presently, God is remaking you into another vessel, whatever he deems as best. He creates a new you, constantly reshaping you to become more like Jesus. God is at work in your life.

Father, I am in your hands. Remake me to be the person you deem best for today and the future. Amen.
