Values Bible Plan

DAY 4 OF 7

Day 4: LEADERSHIP

Day 4: LEADERSHIP

“in humility value others above yourselves”

Leaders are often thought of as individuals who stand above the rest, people with extraordinary abilities whom others admire and look up to. Yet, Jesus redefined leadership by showing us its true nature; servanthood.

Jesus served His family, His friends, and the people around Him. He was never too busy to be interrupted or to adjust His plans for the sake of meeting others' needs. What sustained Jesus in His ministry was knowing what truly mattered. He prioritized time with God and lived out His mission with humility and love.

Leadership happens when we walk with Jesus.

Leadership also happens when we intentionally walk alongside the next generation. Leading like Jesus requires us to intentionally create opportunities and platforms for emerging leaders to develop and grow.

Jesus modeled this by teaching His disciples, equipping, empowering them, and giving them room to make mistakes and learn. He invested in them so they could carry forward His mission. Similarly, we are called to serve others, equip future leaders, and pour into those coming after us.

We are more like Jesus when we are serving others. His life, death, and resurrection, demonstrated servant leadership in its purest form. He came not to be served, but to serve.

If we want to lead like Jesus, we must recognize that leadership is about valuing others above ourselves, allowing space for others to grow and leading by example through love, humility, and service.

2 Timothy 2:2

"And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrusted to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others."
