The Growth Decision: Overcome Complacency and Fear
Growth isn’t always easy—it’s often a battle. One of the biggest obstacles is trying to grow alone. Spiritual growth was never meant to happen in isolation. God designed people to grow best with the support of others who encourage, challenge, and hold them accountable.
Another common obstacle is complacency. It’s easy to settle into routines that feel safe, but comfort zones don’t lead to growth. Real transformation happens when there’s a willingness to step into the unfamiliar.
Then there’s fear—fear of failure, fear of the unknown, or fear of what others might think. Fear whispers, “What if this doesn’t work? What if you mess up?” It can stop progress before it even starts.
These obstacles are real, but they can definitely be overcome. With God’s strength and a decision to take intentional steps, growth is possible.
Reflection: What is one fear or complacency that is holding you back? Surrender it to God in prayer and take one step forward in faith.
