Day 16: 2 Corinthians 2-11
Genock Portela, Levite at UPPERROOM
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18
I believe faith is not a means to materialize the unseen, but a lens to see the grace that has already been given—not just for yourself but for the people around you. Faith reveals grace, and with this grace that we receive, we also become an extension of God’s grace on the earth.
In suffering and in trial, we do not lose heart. Nor should we let others lose heart. Not because of specific expectations we attempt to subject God to, but because of a promise: that even though at times we are given over to death for Jesus’ sake, His life will ultimately be revealed even in our mortal bodies. So whether it is sickness, trauma, financial struggle, or whatever it may be, faith looks like seeing grace manifested in us and in others, as Jesus is revealed—alive and in all of His glory.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your grace. Thank You that You’re with me in all things. I ask that You would fortify my faith and open my eyes to the reality of Jesus resurrected, over every other thing. Help me keep my heart open. My hope and portion are found in You, Lord. Amen.
