Fruit of the Spirit: A 14-Day Fast DevotionalНамуна

God is stirring something new within His people, preparing them for growth and transformation. Just as Jesus spoke about new wine needing new wine skins, fasting and prayer are the tools God uses to change not just circumstances but the hearts of those who seek Him. The Holy Spirit, who was promised after Jesus ascended, is the key to this transformation. He empowers every believer to live out God’s purpose in their lives, just as He did with David in the Old Testament. When David was anointed with oil, the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him, and from that moment on, his life was forever changed.
The Holy Spirit equips believers for every challenge and promotion God has in store. Before David could defeat Goliath, he had to face the lion and the bear. His preparation came through faithfulness in the small things, which led to God’s promotion in his life. Similarly, believers today are called to seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance, trusting that through fasting, prayer, and obedience, God will prepare them for His purpose. It’s not just about receiving blessings; it’s about being transformed into vessels that God can use to accomplish His will in the world.
Discussion Questions:
- In what areas of your life is God preparing you for promotion or new opportunities?
- How can you invite the Holy Spirit to guide and equip you during this time of fasting and prayer?
